Mandy Coon 'Ginny' Bunny bag, Selima Sun for J.Crew 'Sophia' sunglasses & vintage jewelry throughout.
ABOVE: Marc by Marc Jacobs coat. BELOW: French Connection 'Fast Anna' dress.
This coat marks my first ebay purchase, adopted from a Cali beach babe after recalling it from circa fall 2003. Pink + red = very Valentine. Glam lunettes in a cat-eye silhouette are the epitome of French girl chic, a gift from my ♥true love♥. The sweet strawberry lace party piece pays homage to Erdem spring 2011, look #8.
Young Idea Goes West was David Bailey's iconic NY photo shoot of girlfriend-model Jean Shrimpton, published in British Vogue. Ms. Shrimpton is my muse - she represents the best of 1960s beauty & fashion: full fringe falling into spidery eyes & sweet sex appeal in childish styles. Her teddy bear accessory inspired a similar story with my bunny bag... Starting with this silky-sleek shirtdress, delightfully called 'Bunny'.MOD: Vintage Martha Manning dress (last worn HERE).
Turquoise treasure dress reminiscent of the Mary Quant minis Ms. Shrimpton wore, styled by Vogue editors. Mr. Baily's pictures melt cityscape street photography & British fashion into thoroughly modern high art. For more on this legendary shoot, check out his super covetable coffee table book, David Bailey: NYJSDB62.
WHITE PICKET FENCE: Barbour 'Ladies International' jacket. Vintage dress (last worn HERE).
In one of the photos from this Bailey-Shrimpton series, she peers furtively through a chain link fence, further hidden behind sunglasses. Here I rest on an iron wrought fenced stoop in my Barbour jacket, usually reserved for country walks, but worn in the city after a warm spring shower washed the streets with wan sunshine.
