PEARL ICON: Breakfast at Tiffany's film still

Pearls are my favorite jewels, especially antique pre-cultured ones. All incarnations after 1960 seem to stem from Audrey Hepburn's seminal multi strand necklace in Breakfast at Tiffany's. My pearl button cardi is irreverent oceanic treasure, worn with a real baby pearl choker (a 13th birthday present).

I keep adding to my spring shopping list but just realized fall fashions will be in stores in another month or so. Winter clothes are so much more substantial than the swaths of silk we try to stay cool in during warm weather. Of course I'm still excited for summer - finally going to wear these cutoffs barelegged.
