Miu Miu Mary Janes & Kate Spade 'Book of the Month' clutch
H&M headband (worn as bracelet)
Vintage necklaces & Jacqueline de Ribes dress.
"Beneath the lemon tree one day, my love & I did a lie / A girl so sweet that when she smiled the sun rose in the sky. / We passed that summer lost in love beneath the lemon tree / The music of her laughter hid my father’s words from me: / Lemon tree very pretty & the lemon flower is sweet / But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat" - Peter, Paul & Mary, Lemon Tree
This Little Black Dress serves as the blackboard for a literary lesson on F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. Kooky-chic designer Kate Spade ingeniously crafted classic prose (including Charles Dickens' Great Expectations & Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnst) into clever clutches. I love old novels & kitschy secret hollow books; my Gatsby bag exemplifies both in laminated lemon silk with a chocolate & cream candy-striped lining (whose interior pocket & credit card slots make a wallet superfluous). This purse functions as a delightful conversation piece & would be perfection-incarnate if only it had a strap - I'm going to ask the local shoe-maker to solder on one of my old chain necklaces.

  1. You look lovely here. Love the necklace as bracelet and the shoes, of course! Good idea about the chain :)
