Xhileration bikini. Vintage Albert Nipon skirt, necklace, bangles & American Tourister suitcase (on ground). Marc Jacobs 'Rachel' sunglasses. Agatha earrings. Diane von Furstenberg sandals. My Labor Day bookends summer in the country & turns the page for fall in the city. I perched for some photographs in a cotton skirt over a cartoon bikini; note the "plastics" jewelry - waterproof against swimming & inspired by The Graduate's advice. I recently re-watched this movie & am enamoured with actress Anne Bancroft's wardrobe, especially her leopard fur coat - I spotted some wonderful faux versions on Rebecca Taylor's fall 2010 RTW runway. I'm returning to NYC with all my worldly possessions (I downsized)* in this vintage American Tourister suitcase. I bought it at an estate sale to become a stewardess circa 1960; the lipstick-red round shell is lined in cream silk damask & appointed with cunning compartments.
*Confession: Of course I didn't downsize - all I packed in this case is some lake & stars frippery & I'm eager to refresh my fall wardrobe.
