A leopard with pony hair fur would be a curious looking creature, but my vintage swing overcoat marries these elements with panache. It reminds me of Edie Sedgwick's signature coat; I love how she wore it loosely over a narrow black silhouette. I paid tribute to Ms. Sedgwick with some skinny jeans tucked into a pair of riding boots but belted my coat with a strip of supple leather.
Today I bathed in a deluge of fashion reviews for the NY fall 2010 collections. Cathy Horyn's critiques satiate my soul like poetry; she recently described Zac Posen as "skilled enough to deal with types, & so the uptown fur, the girlish flounce, the camp seamed stocking" - how I long to be a modern-day Capote swan in an "asymmetrical jersey dress with a silk flounce."
