Flower Shower

Marc by Marc Jacobs jacket. 3.1 Phillip Lim dress. Vintage woven belt. Vintage costume pearl necklace. Costume moonstone ring. Hue flower tights. Delman ballerinas.
This jacket is my sartorial miracle for the ages... Spring 2004 saw my mom shopping for my 19th birthday; my birthdays tend to be tinged with melancholy, which likely inspired my initial apathy for this Marc by Marc Jacobs blazer (notwithstanding its pale fuzzy flowers blossoming against a field of crisp linen lined in apple green). Our first encounter was at Saks Fifth Ave on a visit home from Boston University & again at the Neiman Marcus in Copley Square a few weeks later. However, I regretfully never tried on the jacket & continued to dream about it until last Dec, when it unexpectedly re-entered my life via a vintage store I've frequented since high school. Sometimes life comes full circle thanks to serendipity/déjà vu: my reunion with this jacket almost six years after its debut was bershet - it's symbolic of beauty bringing happiness.
