Ralph Lauren cardigan. Marc by Marc Jacobs dress. Leopard print belt. Vintage costume pearl pendant necklace worn as headband. Vintage costume pendant necklace. Vintage costume mosaic & charm bracelets. Betsey Johnson houndstooth tights. Chloé 'Edith' bag. Chanel ballerinas. This ensemble pops with bright colors (bubblegum-hued cashmere enlivens a gold lace dress) but is anchored by neutral shades (a ponyhair leopard print belt complements a pair of brown/white houndstooth tights). My Chloé 'Edith' bag is special not least because it shares a name with my mom, but it also reminds me of a photographer's satchel circa 1970.
Today's outfit is an homage to Brittany Murphy's character in the movie Uptown Girls, wherein she plays a champagne bubble of a girl leading a charmed life; I often employ her wardrobe/effervescence as a point of reference. Ms. Murphy's death shocked the world yesterday - she'll be remembered as a sparkly sprite both on & offscreen.

I love this outfit. Especially since that dress is from Gossip Girl.
ReplyDeleteI am loving your dress and that bag is absolutely gorgeous! Hope you're having a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI am so sad about Miss Murphy. Your look today reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. Maybe it's the tights and pink combo. I also featured you in a post I did about bloggers that inspire me. Have a lovely day.

This is one of my very favourite ensembles ever I do believe. I love your mixing of prints and textures, and also the neautral palette with that amazing pop of pink. I really want the dress and cardigan for myself. :)
