Ladies in Lavender

I had a special place in my heart for everything pink long before Elle Woods (the heroine of the film Legally Blonde) declared it to be her signature color - I even went through a phase of incorporating pink into most of the outfits I wore when I was a little girl. Lavender is my favorite shade all grown up; this cardigan makes my sparkly organza frock more demure & complements these bracelets' prisms. I associate lavender with 1) Scarlett O'Hara from Margaret Mitchell's novel, Gone with the Wind (Ms. O'Hara taught me it's worn to indicate a lighter version of mourning) & 2) my internship at Betsey Johnson's showroom (Ms. Johnson nicknamed me "Lady in Lavender" in tribute to the tint of my top I wore on my first day there).
