Rain's redeeming quality is the opportunity to wear a trench coat - this is my favorite one thanks to the bow in the back. Trenches are classic overcoats that embody some of the leitmotifs of pop culture, including European style, mystery & naughtiness. The khaki trench’s timeless appeal allows for modifications (such as fabric, hem length & embellishments) without compromising the integrity of the garment. One need only look to Paris spring 2010 RTW fashion week's designers Rei Kawakubo for Comme des Garçons & John Galliano for both his eponymous collection & Dior to see there are still ways to reinvent the trench. As for me, I cheerfully adopt mine come rain shower or spring breeze.
